Join us for a free celebration of our 5 year anniversary!

The event will be held on September 22 at the Island Institute in Rockland and we will feature samples from our Shrimp Cookbook as well as a signing of the cookbook and door prizes.

From our Press Release:

Port Clyde, Maine–On Saturday, September 22, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Island Institute building, 386 Main Street in Rockland, Port Clyde Fresh Catch staff will welcome customers, friends and the general public to celebrate the company’s fifth year of connecting local fishermen with consumers through Port Clyde Fresh Catch seafood.  This free event will feature live music, door prizes, a drawing for some of PCFC’s wild-caught seafood products, and samples from The Original Maine Shrimp Cookbook.  Cookbook author Diane Schetky will also be on hand to sign copies of the most extensive collection of Maine shrimp recipes ever published – now in its second printing.

From its beginning as the first Community Supported Fishery (CSF) program in the nation with just one location at Rockland’s First Universalist Church and just one product (Maine shrimp), Port Clyde Fresh Catch has grown to include lobster, crab, hake, flounder, monkfish, pollock, squid,  cod, haddock and other less well-known species such as skate wings and rock shark.  All are harvested using environmentally sustainable fishing methods that reduce by-catch, habitat impact and fossil-fuel consumption. They are then processed in the Port Clyde-based, HAACP-certified processing facility.

Today, several CSF locations, restaurants and farmers’ markets offer Port Clyde Fresh Catch products to seafood lovers along the Maine coast and beyond. For more information about the company, please visit www.portclydefreshcatch.com or contact Dick McGee at 207-975-2116 or dick.mcgee2@hotmail.com.”
